Craobh Rua's under 14s and 16s squads travelled down to Kilkenny where we were hosted by Mullinavat GAA club.
Our U14s took on the home side while our U16s played local club Slieverue .
Both games were played in excellent spirit and were an education to our players and coaches alike.
Easy to see why "The Cats" have dominated hurling for so many years. A Massive thanks must go to Willie Kelly for the serious effort he put in to organise the day. Hopefully we can return the favour.
Huge thanks to all in Mullinavat GAA for your hospitality, and for the generous refreshments served up afterwards .Thanks to Paul and Jack for refereeing both games.
And thanks to Mullinavat senior hurler Martin for his encouragement of our lads and his assistance with the day.
After cleaning out the stock of the local hurley maker we travelled back up to Nowlan park to see Galway take on Kilkenny in the Leinster senior hurling championship.
The less said about that game the better, suffice to say that the theme of Kilkenny's hurling dominance continued .
GRMA to Aidan Glynn for organising a fantastic day for the lads and to all the Craobh Rua committee and coaches for pulling together to make it a memorable day out for our under age players .
