Cuimhneachán ar Sheán Byrne agus Patricia Turley
A very special and moving occasion took place recently at Craobh Rua Hurling Club, when members, friends, and the wider community came together with the families of Patricia Turley and Seán Byrne to celebrate and commemorate their immense contribution to the club. Though tinged with sadness, the event was filled with warmth, gratitude, and pride in the legacy that both Patricia and Seán have left behind.
Club Chairman Labhrás Bradley addressed those gathered, speaking with great affection and respect about the two stalwarts. He reminded everyone that without the dedication, vision, and hard work of Patricia and Seán in the early days, there simply would not be a Craobh Rua for the young people of today to enjoy.
Rinne Labhrás machnamh ar a óige féin, ag cuimhneamh ar an tréimhse a chaith sé le Club Charraig a’ Chropáin , agus ar dhaoine cosúil le Mickey McCann, uncail Phatricia, agus Walter Bradley, a uncail féin, a chothaigh a ghrá don chumann. He said, people like Seán and Patricia carried that same spirit forward for the next generation, laying the solid foundations upon which the thriving and successful Craobh Rua club now stands.
In a touching moment, Labhrás made presentations to both families, including a beautiful memory bench dedicated to the legacy of Seán and Patricia — a fitting tribute to two individuals whose selfless service and community spirit will never be forgotten.
