Armagh U15 hurlers produced a brilliant battling display in Abbotstown today as they edged out Limerick after a thrilling encounter.
Armagh started brightly and took the game to their opponents from the throw-in, showing great work rate, sharp passing and clinical finishing.
Their determination was rewarded with a deserved lead at half-time after an impressive opening period. Limerick came storming back after the break and piled on the pressure, gradually eating into the Armagh advantage to set up a tense finish.
But the Orchard lads refused to buckle, digging deep in the closing stages with some heroic defending and vital scores when they mattered most. In a game full of intensity, skill and excitement, Armagh held their nerve to come away with a fantastic victory over a strong Limerick side — a result that showed tremendous character and teamwork from the entire panel.
